Boris Tadic: Aggression comes from Vucic's regime, today's protests remind of those who overthrew Milosevic

The situation in Serbia is grave and very sensitive. The aggression comes from the regime of Aleksandar Vucic.

The current protests against his regime are significant and their potential should not be underestimated.

This is what Boris Tadic, President of Serbia (2004-2012), said in an interview with BGNES English news.

Over the past two months, there have been almost no weekends when there were no protests against the Vucic regime in major Serbian cities. They were prompted by two shootings in early May that claimed the lives of 18 people, including 9 students at one of Belgrade's elite central schools. The violence was the catalyst for the outbreak of mass protest against the way Vucic has ruled Serbia for more than 10 years as prime minister and now as president.

"I don't know what the end result of the protests will be, but we are holding them every week. Citizens are protesting in the streets of Belgrade because of the terrible atrocities and aggression that happened in Serbia," Tadic said. /BGNES
