Borissov: The hole in the Budget exceeds 10 billion leva

Bulgaria's mismanagement raises inflation. The budget hole exceeds 10 billion leva. This is what GERB leader Boyko Borissov said at a meeting with supporters in Razgrad.

In January last year we had 9% inflation - this was before the war in Ukraine. This is double the average European inflation, Borissov explained.

We produce food, milk, cheese, where inflation is huge. It is deliberately created - it is the hidden tax that takes people's money. With us it was 1%. Now, supposedly they have raised pensions, but the money is not enough even for the first week. The hole in the budget is huge, he added.

"Apart from the hole in the budget, the GDP of the country is also going down - there is less and less production, the BNB announced today that growth is slowing down. That means less revenue and less taxes. Three times I have stepped up and fixed the country. I left it admitted to the eurozone waiting room and now they are talking about joining in two years," Borissov said.

He promised that if GERB won the elections, they would form a government.

"I hope all my colleagues who call themselves 'leaders' will understand that the point of the parliamentary elections is to form a government. Otherwise, every election costs over 100 million. We have given more than 1 billion leva for elections to scratch our egos," Borissov added. /BGNES
