Desislav Dionisiev: For a successful business you have to work, be honest and pay your taxes

For a successful business you have to work, be honest and pay your taxes, said Desislav Dionisiev, CEO of "Bioprograma" and a successful businessman, in the English-language morning block of BGNES.

"First of all, you have to work hard. Be honest and pay your taxes. Taxes are good in Bulgaria, if you make a profit, there is not much difference with those in the United States," Dionisiev said.

He also shared his experience in investing abroad.

"You have to have more experience, knowledge and acquaintances. I have had many investments abroad. You have to know that everywhere is different, but with experience everything works out. There are differences in the economic climate, for example the profit is different. People are more educated about business in other countries because of more opportunities. But in general people are the same everywhere. There are advantages in the USA for example, everything is faster and you have help from the government, in Bulgaria it is not like that. That's one of the reasons we're further behind."

Dionisiev looks to Walt Disney if he's for an example of a successful businessman.

"I have spoken to many people from the heights of business. Maybe one person has made an impression on me, Walt Disney. He has made a name out of nothing. He had an idea of what he wanted to do and he was able to make a successful business just from that idea. Fantastic guy," he stressed.

He also commented on some of his speculations about the Bulgarian economy.

"The problem is not to make a assumption, but who will listen. People in parliament think they are elected to make decisions. They think others should not make decisions. They think they are liberals but they are not, they think more conservatively. Now I believe that there will be rash decisions that will end badly, I do not see a good future for Bulgaria. The problems are economic."

Dionisiev also shared his opinion on joining the Eurozone.

"In my opinion we should not be in it because we are practically in it. So why don't we develop like other countries. We should have a free currency, it will boost business. Politicians want the euro because it will free them from responsibility, all decisions will be taken from Frankfurt."

"Bulgaria is a great place and there are opportunities. If we think positively we have to figure out how to win people back. Bulgarians are big investors abroad and work for other countries. We need to attract them back to put Bulgaria back on the map," he concluded. / BGNES
