European Commission has not assessed Bulgaria's Recovery and Resilience Plan yet
Bulgaria's request to extend the deadline for evaluation of its Recovery and Resilience Plan by another month has been received by the European Commission and an answer will be given soon, BNR has learned from a source in the Commission. The first plan was sent on October 15, 2021 and was postponed twice as the second postponement expires on February 15.
The Commission has no preliminary assessment of the latest adjustments to the plan and the dialogue with Sofia continues.
Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said that the latest corrections sent by Bulgaria changed policies in the energy sector, in order to avoid increasing dependence on Russian gas. It has already become clear that the project for the expansion of the Sofia metro was dropped from the plan. /BGNES
