Many ambassadors and politicians attended the reception of the Embassy of France in Bulgaria on the occasion of Bastille Day

The Embassy of France in Bulgaria celebrated Bastille Day with a festive reception. The reception on the occasion of the national holiday of France was held at the Lozenets residence.

In his welcoming speech, the Ambassador of France to Bulgaria H. Pr. Joël Meyer drew attention to two accents - the centuries-old friendship between Bulgaria and France, as well as the unprecedented aggression of Russia against Ukraine and the fact that "by defending Ukraine, we are actually defending ourselves".

The reception was attended by many ambassadors and military attachés of EU member states, as well as diplomats from Balkan countries, including Turkey and the Republic of North Macedonia.

The guests were impressed by the lengthy conversation between GERB leader Boyko Borissov, the party's MP Delyan Dobrev and the United States Ambassador to Bulgaria N. Amb. Kenneth Merten. / BGNES
