Mortality rate in Bulgaria has risen by 4.3%

In the first quarter of 2022, the mortality rate in Bulgaria was 4.3% higher in comparison to the same period of 2021.

According to preliminary data from the National Statistical Institute, more than 38,000 people died in the first three months of 2022, which is 1,590 more in comparison to January-March last year.

The reason for this is the high incidence of Covid-19 marked at the beginning of the year, as the mortality rate is higher among the men. /BGNES
