"There is something different, something unique about the culture, the nature, the people here in Bulgaria. We have the base to do something different and interesting here," he said.

He said the tourism climate in Bulgaria is changing.

"More and more global brands, like Hilton for example, want to invest here. But not only Bulgaria but other countries in the Balkan region need to do more to promote themselves," he added.

To have a successful tourism in Bulgaria, according to the Japanese manager, the country needs infrastructure in the field of air and ground transport, but above all it needs to rely on authentic experiences such as entertainment, food, as well as sales of authentic, local products.
